Reblogged from A Blossoming Day:
Are you a book nerd? I am. I love the smell of books. I love the feel of books. I have not graduated from books to a Nook or an Ipad. One of my life long dreams is to have my own library with two overstuffed chairs and a floor lamp where I can slip away from the real world and get lost in books and adventures; my very own library where I can smell the old books and the leather chairs.
This post is from my sweet cousin Pam's blog. She is a wonderful writer, but more importantly, she is a true virtuous woman: "She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue."
A dear friend of mine introduced me to Katie, in a roundabout way, I suppose. Katie came to Irvine, CA to speak at her church, Mariners, bringing her stories and adventures, and including everyone in the will God has set before her. I can’t imagine giving up everything I have; my possessions and nearly every form of comfort to go and be Light and Love to orphaned and diseased children. She is a stunning example of God’s Love. My friend leaves for Kenya for a year in less than a month, and I know this woman has set a huge example for her.
Your cousin Pam sounds like a woman worth knowing. This who speak with wisdom and faithful instruction on their tongues are a rare find. Knowing somewhat of the compassionate, tender-hearted woman you are, I can say with full assurance, Pam is equally blessed to have you, Lori.
Have a wonderful weekend,
~ Cara
What an amazing young woman she is. Have you read her book? I haven’t, but it’s on my list along with the Diana Gabaldon Outlander series of course! I’ll be making a trip to Half Priced Books tomorrow.
Your friend must be another amazing woman. God bless her and God bless Pam’s daughter Sarah. I would never change a thing about my life, but i do wish I would have done more in the service of others when I was younger. I was way too self absorbed and now I regret it. But there’s still a few good years left in the old girl. Onward and upward as they say. I need to learn more about your Crafting Water project. I’d like to donate, I’ll check it out this weekend!
Xoxox!
