PASSING IT ON:
I hereby pass forward this joyful Sunshine Award to some of the truly inspirational blogging friends I have met since I began this journey through cyberspace. I apologize if you are receiving the award for the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th time. Just know that you inspire me and I appreciate your incredible talent! Here are my nominations in no particular order.
A Blossoming Day – Pam Harkins is a true woman of God and her devotion is magnified in the wisdom and words of her blog. She is cute as a bug’s ear, she sings like an angel, but she can also take down a deer with a bow and arrow. Her stories and photos will warm your heart and make you smile. Plus, she is my cousin and I love her to pieces!
Going Dutch – Malou’s photography is truly breathtaking. Through her writing and amazing photos, she paints a vivid picture of a beautiful culture and land that I may have never known otherwise. Do you know anything about Amersfoort? I do!
Newfoundland Traveller - Pauline was born in Pasadena, Newfoundland and her father went for the midwife on a horse, I LOVE that about her. I also admire the fact that she loves her homeland and is dedicated to preserving and sharing that heritage. Another thing I love is that she is a teacher. One of the most important and least appreciated professions in the world. Thank you, Pauline!
Technicolor Day Dreams – Dor is just awesome. The man of her life hates cheese and refuses to let her sneak it into her recipes. How can you live without cheese, Dor? That alone makes you a Saint. She takes 17 mile bike rides with her girlfriends and through her stories and photographs, she shares little glimpses of her life in the Shenandoah Valley at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Dor and I are kindred spirits. She is a country girl who loves dogs, nature and a good story. She has given me endless support and encouragement and I am so happy to have her as a new friend.
This Little Light – Cara is another true woman of God. Her blog is just like the song we all learned in Sunday school, and Cara is letting her light shine. That inner light radiates throughout everything she does, and she has a magnetism that draws you in. Keep up the good work cara mia, you are touching many lives.
Becoming Cliche - First of all she is hilarious! She is a snake-keeping, thrift-store loving mother of three that works as an educator in a zoo. She is owned by a PBGV (I actually knew what that was without having to look it up) and she calls her youngest child “Squish”. A woman after my own heart!
Mike’s Look at Life - Mike has lived a life full of triumph and tragedy. He is a writer, poet and great photographer. His stories are so vivid, you would swear you were there with him. Very powerful and insightful stuff.
veggie4ayear – Heather reminds me of my two daughters. She has made a conscious choice to eliminate meat from her diet due to the horrors and inhumane treatment of animals in our food production system. Her blog is full of great vegan recipes and my hippie soul really admires her for taking a stand against animal cruelty. Heather, you rock sister!
The Blissful Adventurer - Michael Housewright is just an all around interesting guy. He is a world traveler, writer, poet, food and wine critic, photographer, devoted husband and fellow Texan. It’s impossible not to be inspired by this man.
The Sugared Pecan - Donna is a down home Southern girl from Alabama. As the name implies, her blog is devoted to creating delicious recipes, all of which I would happily devourer in a heartbeat. Food Network’s next big star, perhaps?
Thank you all for making life a little more interesting!
Thanks a million! This is my fourth time being nominated and I appreciate the over 700 followers I have wo many of them have been reading my blog faithfully. The midwife who brought me into the world brought many whole family’s children in also. Her name is Stella Ryan and there should be awards given to her. I would like to see her family write a book about her. If you have time read the piece “come Here I have something to show you, Joan!” Thanks again!
Lori! You brought a huge smile to my face late last night when I was able to sit down and catch up on the day’s posts. What a honor to be nominated with the likes of this batch of fine, honorable blogs — and for you to have noticed something in my writing that exudes warmth. Thank you for your kind words and taking a moment, really, to say something genuine about each person you nominated. I can imagine the time it must have taken to think about why each one was picked and offer something heartfelt. You are an amazing lady!
Blessings,
Cara
Lori, I am just now finding out that you nominated me for this fantastic award. I am so honored that you thought of my little blog. I will be posting my award very soon! I remember I was sick about that time because it was right before my birthday. I am using that for my excuse as to why I might have missed your comment but the truth is that I am a little dingy sometimes.:) Thanks again so, so much!!!!
You’re very welcome!
